Seitsemän päivän loman jälkeen koitti paluu takaisin toimistolle sorvin ääreen. 566 lukemattoman sähköpostin auki klikkailu ei kuitenkaan harmittanut yhtään niin paljoa, kun takana oli upea kesälomaviikko.
Heti Katinkullan korkeanpaikanleirin jälkeen nokka siirtyi nopeasti kohti etelän ihanuuksia, kun lähdin viikonlopuksi Tammisaaren lähellä sijaitsevaan Tenholan kirkonkylään. Siellä oli tarkoitus juhlia noin 50 ihmisen voimin tätini kihlajaisia idyllisessä kartanossa, vanhassa pappilassa.
Tätini perheen kesäasunto ja ikuinen remonttikohde on kukkulan päällä sijaitseva pappila. Tämä keskiajalta peräisin oleva tila toimi ennen muinoin papin asuntona, jonne lähiseudun asukkaat nousivat hevoskärryillä ripille ja kastamaan jälkikasvunsa. Historian havinaa henkivällä tilalla kelpasi juhlistaa uuden rakkaustarinan alkua, juoda monta lasia viiniä ja nautiskella isännän taikomia gourmet-herkkuja yhdessä vanhojen ja uusien ystävien kanssa.

It didn’t feel like Finland at all
Celebrating love in a parsonage
Today, after a week of holidays, it was time to get back to the office. I had 566 unread messages waiting for me, but clicking them open one after another didn’t feel that bad ’cause I still had good holiday memories in my mind.
Straight from the Katinkulta “training camp” I headed to the South of Finland, Tammisaari. The plan was to celebrate my aunt’s engagement with 50 other guests. The venue took place in a very idyllic parsonage, that dates back to the 1500’s. The property located on the top of the hill served as a priest’s home at that time and was a place for locals to get their offspring babtized. Currently, it is a beautiful summer house and a renovation project of my aunt’s family and this week end it offered a perfect place to celebrate love; to drink one too many glasses of wine; and to enjoy delecious food made by the husband-to-be. Gotta love it!
Some of the quests, including me, stayed over night. Next morning was sunny too, so we spent some more time in the beautiful courtyard.
The host needed some rest and cannot blame him for that!
But it wasn’t just about the beautiful scene outdoors, inside the house could be found interesting little details too.
