On aika hyväksyä tosiasiat: kauden kuumin hiustrendi on liukuvärjäys ja kesän jälkeen tulee aina syksy. Faktoista ensimmäisen opin viime viikolla, mutta jälkimmäisen ymmärtäminen tuottaa vaikeuksia vielä vuosien jälkeenkin. Toki muutamat epätyypillisen optimistiset suomalaiset jatkavat vielä dressmanin shortsikautta ja vetoavat päivisin näkyvään valoilmiöön, mutta hold your horses – paistaahan se risukasaankin, ainakin sieltä väleistä ja vähän alta.

And I definitely know it’s over, ’cause the official beachvolley season came to an end today. snif.
Melankolisuudet sikseen, mutta tottahan se on, että viime päivinä ilmassa on leijunut syksyn tuoksu ( se alkoi heti, kun perunan käryt laskivat). Aika on yht’äkkiä taas erittäin arvokasta ja arki aikataulutettua. Ja niin sanottujen velvollisuuksien keskellä on kuitenkin pakko nauttia vielä jokaisesta mahdollisesta auringonsäteestä, koska ”kohta sitä valoa ei enää ole”. Myös koko kesän kestänyt biitsikausi tuli tänään päätökseen.

Kauden vaihtuminen tuo tullessaan aina hiukan nostalgisia fiiliksiä. Sitä miettii, mitä tuli tehtyä ja millaiseksi määritellä “kesä 2012”. Omalta osaltani se ainakin sisälsi aika paljon töitä, mutta myös ihania kesäisiä urheilulajeja, kahvittelua kaupungilla ja kauniita hetkiä kesä-Helsingissä.
As the season shifts you get a bit nostalgic. You think back in time and try to summarize the past season: how will I remember “the summer 2012”?. In my case, there were many hours spent in the office but also outdoors enjoying nice summer sports and beautiful Helsinki.

Mutta, ihan oikea syksyn merkki on tämä: upouusi kalenteri, joka pitää käydä ostamassa, jotta sitä voi taas alkaa täyttää kuukausiksi eteenpäin. Onkohan tämä nyt hyvä vai huono juttu? Mikki on ainakin aina jees! 🙂
After all, the ultimate symbol of autumn is this: a brand new calendar that you desperately need in order to keep track of all your events and due dates. I’m not convinced if it’s a good thing, but one thing I’m sure of: Mickey Mouse is always cool! 🙂

ps. ainakin vielä yksi syksyn merkki on tässä: kesän kuumin hitti alkaa pikkuhiljaa jo kyllästyttää. (En puhu nyt Mambasta.) Mutta kerta kiellon päälle, vai mitä kaverit? Ootko muuten jo nähnyt tämän version, jossa Abercrombien mallipojat pistää parastaan? Suu ei välttämättä mene ihan synkassa sanojen kanssa, mutta ei kavereilta kaikkea voi vaatia.

I don’t know if you have seen this version of the song with male models of Abercrombie & Fitch? Mouth movements are not synchronized with the words all the time, but nobody can have it all, right? 😉
